2020 Hometown Clean Around

On March 14th the Calhoun County Community Foundation held our 2020 Hometown Clean Around Event. Volunteers from Kinard, Altha, and Blountstown gathered to help show everyone that its important to #LoveWhereYouLive and care about your community.

Over 8 miles of roadway were cleaned in the Kinard, Scotts Ferry, & Frink areas. The Altha Recreation Park was cleaned, lawn mowed, and had several bags of trash removed. Downtown Blountstown also had several bags of trash picked up.

THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered, sponsored, or donated their time, resources, and energy to this event. Kinard Fire Dept., Jimmy Baggett, Terry Baggett, Altha Town Hall, KingBuilt Construction, and Blountstown City Hall, thank you for providing valuable resources. Open Arms Assembly, Altha First Baptist, Uncle's Taste of the Island, and Sharon Chason, thank you for providing lunch for all of the volunteers! Ms. Doris Traylor and Keep Calhoun County Beautiful also donated trash grabbers, water bottles and towels for the Blountstown volunteers and it was greatly appreciated.

We hope to continue this event each year and we are already planning our 2021 Hometown Clean Around! We hope you'll join us in 2021 to once again show the world you truly do #LoveWhereYouLive !
