This year America hits a special milestone of 250 years and Calhoun County, FL is celebrating all year long. We have invited various community partners to join forces in helping us highlight all the things that have shaped America into what it is today.

Each event on the CalCo America 250 schedule will be highlighted by a word or phrase that represents the role it plays in America's past present and future.

Throughout 2026 we invite you to join us at each of these local events to learn more about your community, spend time getting to know your neighbors and celebrate America’s 250th Birthday CalCo style…all year long!

HARVEST - Celebrate the Spring Strawberry Harvest with the Strawberry Social at Pine Holler Family Fun Farm.
BUSINESS - Attend the 77th Annual Calhoun County Chamber Banquet as we celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of Calhoun County and all our small businesses.
EDUCATION - Visit the Calhoun County Public Library Blountstown Branch and step inside the Freedom 250 Traveling American History Museum to learn about the founding of our great nation.
HISTORY & HERITAGE - Enjoy the Annual Community Sucker Fish Fry presented by Woodman Life in the Clarksville Community.
THE GREAT OUTDOORS - Honor the great outdoors by participating in the Sizematters Summer Benefit Fish Tournament.
INDEPENDENCE - Celebrate America's big day with the Town of Altha during their Annual Independence Day celebration and Fireworks show.
HARVEST - Celebrate the Summer Harvest with the Watermelon Festival at Pine Holler Family Fun Farm.
LIBERTY - Make your way to the Annual Reagan Day Dinner presented by the Calhoun County Republican Party.
INNOVATION - Step back in time as you take a peek at Classic Cars during the Hot Summer Nights Classic Car Show presented by Foxtrot 95 Airport.
GIVING - Help us celebrate the spirit of giving by volunteering at the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office Annual Back to School Bash/Supply Drive.
COMMUNITY - The Calhoun County Community Foundation & Chamber of Commerce are joining forces to host an End of Summer Salute on Labor Day weekend! Join us for a Free Community Picnic, Movie Night & Fireworks Show at Sam Atkins Park.
HARVEST - Celebrate the Fall Harvest by visiting the Pumpkin patch at Pine Holler Family Fun Farm.
HISTORY & HERITAGE - Be sure to attend the 41st Annual Goat Day & Pioneer Day at the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement in Blountstown. See how life in Calhoun County was long ago and how its rich pioneer history helped shape our communities into what they are today.
VOLUNTEERISM - The Kinard Halloween Carnival will celebrate its 51st year on October 31st but this event goes far beyond a night of family fun. Serving as the annual benefit for the Kinard Fire Dept., the carnival brings together volunteers from across the region, to raise funds for the local volunteer fire dept. Those funds are used throughout the year to keep the dept. in service ensuring they are best prepared for duty when the call for help comes in.
SERVICE - The American Legion Post 272 will host their 2nd Annual Veteran's Villa at Foxtrot 95 Airport on the Saturday following Veteran's Day. The event will boast vendors, food, and fun as well as various activities throughout the day to honor Veterans.
